Candidiates must satisfy all the conditions listed below as on the cut‑off date 31 May 2026. Failure to meet any requirement will result in rejection of the application.
Mandatory: MBBS degree from a university/college recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) or the respective State Medical Council.
Preferred: Post‑Graduate Diploma or Post‑Graduate Degree (MD/MS or equivalent) in relevant medical specialty.
Candidates holding only an MBBS degree must have a minimum of5 years’ experience as a General Practitioner**, calculated from the date of registration with the NMC/State Medical Council.
Candidates possessing a postgraduate degree (MD/MS) need a minimum of3 years experience as a General Practitioner** from the registration date.
Internship, teaching or training experience is not counted toward the above requirement.
Maximum age: 35 years for unreserved (UR) candidates.

Only one relaxation benefit is allowed per candidate; cumulative relaxation under multiple categories is not permitted.

The fee must be paid **online** via Internet Banking, Debit Card or Credit Card before the closing date. Once paid, the fee is non‑refundable and cannot be adjusted against any future examination.
Online Written Test (tentatively in August 2026) – includes Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language (all qualifying) and Professional Knowledge (merit‑determining). Negative marking applies.
Interview – Conducted for shortlisted candidates; carries 100 marks.
Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT) – Mandatory for provisional selections before joining; candidates with 10th/12th mark‑sheets showing the local language as a subject are exempted.
The final merit list is prepared **circle‑wise and category‑wise** using a **70 % weightage for the written test** and **30 % for the interview**. Scores are normalized across stages before the final ranking.

Special increments are granted for Postgraduate Diploma (+1) and MD/MS or equivalent (+2). Private practice is **not permitted** for BMOs.
