Since this is a walk‑in drive, there is no written examination. The selection proceeds through a straightforward three‑stage procedure:
Document Scrutiny – VSSC officials verify originals against the eligibility criteria and the information provided in the application form.
Application Form Submission – Candidates receive a form at the venue, fill it, and submit it along with self‑attested copies.
Merit‑Based Selection – Candidates are ranked based on the highest marks obtained in the relevant qualifying examination. Reservation categories receive appropriate weightage.
After the walk‑in, a merit panel is created. The panel determines the order in which candidates are inducted for the one‑year apprenticeship. Successful candidates are registered on the NATS 2.0 portal (www.nats.education.gov.in) immediately after joining, as per the contractual obligation.
The stipend is set as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, and its amendments. Graduate Apprentices receive ₹12,300 per month while Technician Apprentices receive ₹10,900 per month. The training period spans one year, during which candidates are entitled to canteen and transport facilities. However, accommodation must be arranged by the apprentices themselves.
Carrying only photocopies instead of original certificates – the notification explicitly demands originals plus self‑attested copies.
Submitting a converted CGPA percentage – CGPA‑to‑percentage conversion is not accepted for eligibility verification.
Ignoring the five‑year passing rule – candidates who crossed the five‑year window from the date of certificate issuance are automatically disqualified.
Missing category‑specific certificates – especially the Non‑Creamy Layer certificate for OBC candidates, which must be in the prescribed format.
Assuming an online application exists – the entire process is offline and confined to the walk‑in date.
