The Indian Navy has opened the door to a prestigious career for young, energetic graduates and engineering graduates through the Short Service Commission (SSC) Officer scheme for the June 2027 (AT‑27) Course. This recruitment aims to fill approximately 275 officer vacancies across a variety of exciting branches Pilot, Observer, Air Traffic Controller, Logistics, Engineering, Electrical, Naval Constructor and more. The online process starts on 25 June 2026 and, after an extension, the final deadline is now 3 August 2026 (originally 27 July 2026). There is no application fee for any candidate. Job Location: All India; initial training at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala from June 2027.

Executive, Pilot, Observer, ATC, Engineering, Electrical, NAIC, Naval Constructor: BE / B.Tech in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks.
Logistics:
BE / B.Tech with First Class, OR
MBA with First Class, OR
B.Sc / B.Com / B.Sc.(IT) with First Class plus a PG Diploma in Finance / Logistics / Supply Chain / Material Management, OR
MCA / M.Sc.(IT) with First Class.
Education Branch:
M.Sc / M.A (Mathematics, Physics, etc.) with 60% marks.
M.A History with 55% marks.
BE / B.Tech / ME / M.Tech in relevant streams with 60% marks.
Final‑year students are also eligible, provided they complete the required degree with the stipulated percentage before joining INA Ezhimala.
The age criteria differ slightly for each entry. Broadly, candidates must be born between 02 July 2000 and 01 July 2008 (both dates inclusive) to be considered eligible. For example:
Pilot entry requires birth between 02 July 2003 and 01 July 2008.
Many Executive and Technical entries allow birth between 02 July 2002 and 01 January 2008.

Note: NCC ‘C’ certificate holders (Naval wing) receive a 5% relaxation in the SSB shortlisting cut‑off marks, subject to specified conditions.
Selected candidates are commissioned as Sub Lieutenant in the Indian Navy. The initial gross monthly pay starts at approximately ₹1,20,000. In addition to basic pay, officers receive a range of allowances such as:
Special allowance for Pilot/Observer and Submarine officers – ₹31,250 per month after training.
Free medical care for the officer and dependents.

There is **no written examination** for the June 2027 (AT‑27) SSC Officer entries. Selection is based purely on academic performance and the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview.
Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of the normalised marks of their qualifying degree.
SSB Interview: Shortlisted applicants are called to appear for the SSB interview, typically held at centres in Bangalore, Bhopal, Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam or Kolkata.
Medical Examination: Those who clear the SSB undergo a comprehensive medical examination.
Merit List: The final selection list is prepared considering SSB performance, availability of vacancies and, where applicable, NCC relaxation.
Because the process is interview‑centric, candidates are encouraged to prepare thoroughly for the SSB stages—group tasks, psychological tests and personal interview.
