Unmarried male graduates (including wards of battle casualties) aged 19-25 as on 01 Jan 2027. Must be Indian citizen. General candidates need a Bachelor's degree and at least 'B' grade in NCC 'C' Certificate. Wards of battle casualties need only graduation, no NCC certificate.

The Indian Army, through its Directorate General of Recruiting, has released the NCC Special Entry Scheme 125th Course (Men) Recruitment 2026 notification for 70 vacancies under the Short Service Commission (Non‑Tech) category. The scheme includes 63 general seats and 7 seats reserved for Wards of Battle Casualties of Army Personnel.

Candidates must carefully verify each condition before applying. The following eligibility parameters are prescribed in the official notification.
Indian citizen, or a subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, or specified East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India (subject to a certificate of eligibility). Gorkha subjects of Nepal are exempted from the eligibility certificate.
Age as on 01 January 2027: 19 – 25 years.
Thus, candidates born between 02 January 2002 and 01 January 2008 (both dates inclusive) are eligible.
No additional age relaxations are mentioned in the notification.
General (NCC ‘C’ Certificate holders): Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university + minimum ‘B’ grade in the NCC ‘C’ Certificate exam. The candidate must have completed at least two/three years of service in the Senior Division/Wing of NCC (as applicable). Final‑year graduates can also apply, provided they complete the degree before the course starts; their first two/three‑year percentage will be considered for shortlisting.
Wards of Battle Casualties: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university is required. An NCC ‘C’ Certificate is **not** required for this quota.
Provisional NCC ‘C’ Certificate is not accepted at the SSB stage – candidates must hold the final certificate when appearing for the interview.
The selection is a streamlined, five‑stage process designed to assess academic performance, NCC proficiency, personal attributes, and medical fitness.
Online registration and form filling through the official portal (no offline applications).
Based on a maximum of 100 bonus marks:
Up to 50 marks for NCC ‘C’ Certificate performance (50 for ‘A’, 25 for ‘B’ grade).
Up to 50 marks for graduation performance (0 for below 60 %, increasing to 50 for 85 % and above). Score calculated as a percentage out of 50.
Shortlisting is expected during the first week of September 2026**.
Shortlisted candidates choose their SSB centre and date on a first‑come‑first‑served basis within a **14‑day window in September 2026**.
Conducted at Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar, likely during November/December 2026 (maximum 5 days).
Two‑stage process. Candidates failing Stage I are returned the same day. Only successful Stage II candidates proceed to the next step.
Recommended candidates undergo a medical test. Medical validity is 270 days from the SSB medical board date to the PCTA joining date.
Merit is prepared strictly on SSB interview marks. In case of ties, the older candidate is ranked higher; if age is identical, the higher qualifying exam percentage decides.
Joining letter is issued to candidates within the merit list and available vacancies, provided all eligibility criteria are met.

After registration, click‘Apply Online’ under the Dashboard.

Fill in personal details, communication information, educational qualifications, and previous SSB details section‑wise. Click Save & Continue after each segment.
Review the Summary of your information page thoroughly. Ensure name, parent names, DOB, and all other data match your matriculation certificate exactly.
Convert your CGPA to percentage using the university’s official formula before entering the graduation marks field.
After confirming accuracy, click Submit.
Take two printouts of the submitted application (including Roll Number) 30 minutes after final closure on the last day. Keep one copy for your records and submit the other as required.
**Important: Only one application per candidate is allowed. Multiple submissions will result in automatic cancellation. No corrections are entertained after the application window closes.
Candidates must carry originals and self‑attested copies of the following documents. DigiLocker e‑certificates are accepted only if the issuing institution certifies that only e‑certificates were issued.
Signed printout of the online application with a self‑attested photograph.
Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate and Mark Sheet.
Class 12th Certificate and Mark Sheet.
Graduation Degree or Provisional Degree (not older than six months as on 01 April 2027) from a recognised university.
Mark sheets of all years/semesters.
NCC ‘C’ Certificate (issued on or before the online application date) – not required for Wards of Battle Casualties.
University certificate on CGPA‑to‑marks conversion criteria (if applicable).
For final‑year candidates: a certificate from the Principal/Head of Institution confirming that the result will be declared by 01 April 2027.
For Wards of Battle Casualties: additional documents include the Battle Casualty certificate and relationship certificate issued by the Manpower (Policy & Planning) Directorate.
Submitting a provisional NCC ‘C’ Certificate that is not upgraded to the final certificate before SSB.
Discrepancies in name, parent names, or DOB between the application and matriculation certificate.
Incorrect conversion of CGPA to percentage – always use the university’s official formula.
Attempting to edit the application after the window closes.
Submitting more than one application – this leads to immediate cancellation.
Delaying the printout – obtain it within 30 minutes after closure.
Upon commissioning as a Lieutenant, selected candidates are placed in Pay Level‑10 of the Defence Pay Matrix.
Basic Pay: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 per month.
Military Service Pay: ₹15,500 per month.
Estimated CTC: Approx. ₹17‑18 lakh per annum.
Training Stipend: ₹56,100 per month during the 49‑week OTA programme. The training period is not counted as commissioned service, but admissible allowance arrears are paid after commissioning.
