Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech) in a notified stream from a recognised university. Final-year engineering students can apply if they provide proof of passing the degree by the start of training and produce the degree certificate within 12 weeks of joining the academy. Age: 20–27 years as of 1 April 2027. Unmarried male candidates only.

Indian Army 68th SSC Tech (Men) Entry 2026 invites applications from engineering graduates for 350 officer vacancies in technical streams. This is a non‑UPSC, Short Service Commission (Technical) entry there is no written examination. Candidates are selected through a five‑day SSB interview, a medical examination, and a final merit list. Selected officers train at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya, Bihar and are commissioned as Lieutenants.
The application window opened on 9 July 2026 and will close on 7 August 2026.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech) in a notified stream from a recognized university. Final‑year engineering students are also eligible, provided they submit proof of passing by the start of training and produce the degree certificate within 12 weeks of joining the academy. The engineering stream printed on the degree and marksheet must exactly match the stream selected in the online form; a mismatch leads to cancellation.
Candidates must be 20 to 27 years old as on 1 April 2027. In other words, they must be born between 1 April 2000 and 31 March 2007 (both dates inclusive). The date of birth recorded in the Matriculation / Secondary certificate is final. Requests for age changes after this are not accepted.
This entry is open to unmarried male candidates only.

During Training: A monthly stipend of ₹56,100 is paid at the academy.
On Commissioning (Lieutenant): Pay Level 10 (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500) plus Military Service Pay and various allowances.
Cost‑to‑Company: With allowances added, the approximate annual compensation is around ₹17–18 lakh per year, plus free medical cover for self and family.

There is no written exam for this entry. The entire selection is merit‑based and consists of four steps:
The Army fixes a cut‑off percentage based on the number of applications and vacancies in each stream. Candidates whose engineering degree percentage is above the cut‑off are called for the SSB.
Selected candidates attend a five‑day SSB Interview that includes screening tests, psychology tests, group tasks, and a personal interview at an allotted Selection Centre, likely between October and December 2026.
After clearing the SSB, candidates undergo a complete medical examination by a military medical board.
A final, stream‑wise merit list is prepared. Candidates who figure in the list, subject to vacancies and medical fitness, join the academy for training. Successful candidates are commissioned as Lieutenants.
