The Indian Air Force (IAF) has announced a special recruitment drive for skilled musicians to serve as Agniveer Vayu under the Agnipath Scheme, Intake 01/2027. This unique opportunity allows young music lovers to become part of the elite Air Force Band, which performs at official ceremonies, ceremonial events, and cultural functions across India.
The Agnipath Scheme offers a four‑year tenure filled with discipline, camaraderie, and the chance to serve the nation while pursuing a passion for music. Selected candidates will receive a structured monthly package ranging from ₹30,000 in the first year to ₹40,000 by the fourth year, along with extensive defence benefits, a Seva Nidhi corpus, and comprehensive life insurance coverage.
The recruitment process is simple, transparent, and purely merit‑based, making it an ideal Sarkari Naukri for those who have passed the 10th standard and possess real musical talent.
Exclusive Band Assignment: Join the prestigious IAF Air Force Band, one of the most esteemed musical ensembles in the Indian armed forces.
Competitive Agniveer Package: Earn a yearly incrementing salary from ₹30,000 to ₹40,000, plus a non‑contributory life insurance cover of ₹48 lakh during service.
Seva Nidhi Benefits: On completion of four years, receive a Seva Nidhi corpus of around ₹10.04 lakh, with an equal government contribution.
National Service: Serve your country while showcasing your musical skills at state functions, parades, and cultural events nationwide.
Applicants must meet every requirement before submitting their online form. The eligibility is divided into educational, physical, musical, and age parameters.
Passed Matriculation (10th) or equivalent from any recognised Central, State or UT Government board.
Ability to play at least one instrument from List A (Concert Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba) or List B (Keyboard / Piano, Guitar, Violin, String Bass, Drums, any Indian classical instrument).
Hold a Grade 5 (or above) certificate from a recognised music institute, a diploma in music, or a certificate of participation in music events.
Candidates must be unmarried males or females.
Date of birth: Between 1 January 2005 and 1 July 2009 (both dates inclusive).
Upper age at the time of enrolment should not exceed 22 years.
Male Height: Minimum 162 cm.
Female Height: Minimum 152 cm.
Relaxations are applicable for candidates belonging to North‑East and hilly regions as per government norms.
The IAF provides age relaxations for candidates belonging to socially and economically disadvantaged groups, ensuring inclusive participation.
SC / ST: As per government guidelines.
OBC: As per government guidelines.
PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities): As per government guidelines.
The Agniveer Vayu Musician package is designed to reward commitment and performance over the four‑year tenure.

About 70% of the package is paid directly in hand each month; the remaining goes to the Agniveer Corpus Fund.

The selection is a transparent, multi‑stage process carried out at a recruitment rally. Candidates must clear each stage to move to the next.
Verification of Eligibility & Documents: At the rally venue, original certificates and proof of age are verified.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
1.6 km run (Male ≤ 7 minutes, Female ≤ 8 minutes)
Push‑ups, sit‑ups, and squats as per prescribed norms
English Written Test:
30 objective questions in 30 minutes
No negative marking
Music Proficiency Test (MPT):
Candidates play their chosen instrument(s) from List A or List B before a selection board.
Evaluation is based on technical accuracy, expression, and stage presence.
Medical Examination:
Assessed against Indian Air Force medical standards.
Final enrolment is strictly on a merit‑cum‑medical‑fitness basis. Successful candidates are informed about their enrolment at the rally or through official communications.
Applications are accepted only through the official CASB (Common Admission System for Bangladesh? Actually CASB application portal for IAF) online portal. Follow these steps meticulously to ensure successful registration.

Click on "New Registration" and provide personal details such as name, date of birth, gender, and contact information.
Verify your mobile number and email address using the One‑Time Password (OTP) sent to you.
Log in with your credentials and fill out the complete application form, ensuring all entries are accurate.
Upload a recent passport‑size photograph, scanned signature, and any required documents (educational certificates, music certificates, etc.).
Capture a live image of yourself as per the portal’s requirement.
Pay the application fee of ₹100 plus 18% GST using Net Banking, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI.
Submit the form and download the confirmation slip for future reference.
Remember to bring your own musical instrument(s) from List A and List B to the recruitment rally for the practical test.
